Who are SWS’s partners?

The Strafford Wind Symphony is dedicated to the fostering and promotion of the adult community symphonic band. Through our yearly series of concerts and other programs, we hope to provide cultural experiences for our members as well as for the communities in which we are proud to perform.

Our main purpose is to stimulate interest in symphonic music through our public concerts and regional touring, reaffirming the necessity of the American community band by broadening appreciation for the music we play. It is also an opportunity for our members to grow as musicians and express themselves creatively.

In addition, we believe it is vitally important to assist in the musical education of our youth, which we support not only through our concerts and festival performances, but also by music clinics and the scholarships we award yearly to talented regional youth.

As a nonprofit corporation, we rely on the support graciously provided by local businesses and community members to help achieve these goals. With your partnership, we can ensure the continuation of the many great programs we provide locally and regionally throughout the year.  Your contribution helps to purchase exciting new pieces of music for our library, new equipment, cover operating costs, commission works from local and worldwide composers, invite guest performers and so much more.
